Your next steps as a scientist.
Science is an ongoing process. What new question do you think should be investigated?
How do your questions build on the research that has already been done?
Study design
What future data should be collected to answer your question?
List your independent variable(s).
List your dependent variable(s).
For each variable, explain why you included it and how it could be measured.
Proposed hypothesis
What hypothesis are you testing in your experiment? A hypothesis is a proposed explanation for an observation, which can then be tested with experimentation or other types of studies.
What did Isabela do next?
After analyzing these data, Isabela thought that the interesting next questions would focus on figuring out why she saw differences in the number of offspring an individual has based on how far it moved. Are they moving to habitats that are better? Does being from a different pool make them more attractive to mates? Are they just healthier in general?
Since conducting the analysis of this study, Isabela obtained her PhD and moved to Santa Barbara to work at the Botanic Garden there as a rare plant conservation scientist.
