Notebook-based Computing:
How can I integrate interactive R and python coding into a module?
How can we build an interactive data tool in which students interact with or even write their own code? Many scientists know how to create educational materials based on their own analysis tools. Sharing those tools online can be a challenge, however, as this technology is changing rapidly.
This short module demonstrates how module authors might address computational learning objectives that require student to interact directly with code. One way to address this is by incorporating computational notebooks - document formats that allow authors to combine text and other elements with live code. This module outlines the reasons why an author might choose this approach and provides some strategies for executing that integration.
