Energy in the far North:
Could Anaerobic Digestors be the Future of Energy for Remote Communities?
Entire communities in Northern Canada survive on energy from desiel generators: are biogas reactors the solution

This project will focus on possible design adaptations for the existing anaerobic digesters to modify them to suit the climate and conditions of northern Canadian communities. By exploring possible changes such as adding insulation, feedstock changes and placement, we seek to create a design that is realistic, impactful, and viable for northern communities. Adding this system would eliminate the emissions used to transport fuel to these remote locations and be a clean energy source.
