Just Transition: The Roles of Authoritarian Regimes, Democracies, and Private Corporations
This case aims to examine which entity—democratic states, authoritarian regimes, or private corporations—can most effectively manage climate transition.
First, it will establish criteria for evaluating climate transition efforts. Then, it will analyze the strengths and weaknesses of each system based on these criteria. It will mainly use the United States and China as examples for democratic and authoritarian systems, respectively. While these two nations do not encompass all democratic or authoritarian governments, they serve as effective representatives due to their significant contributions to both greenhouse gas emissions and also mitigation efforts
