Sustainable Neighbourhoods :
LEED Inspired Residential Housing in Montreal
What if your home could cut down on energy bills, water consumption, and fight climate change, all while setting a new standard for sustainable living?

Montreal has historically faced sustainability challenges due to its reliance on fossil fuels for heating, and electricity during its cold winters. However, the implementation of LEED-certified residential housing will serve as a model for sustainable and healthy living communities. The explored solutions are geothermal systems for lower energy consumption, effective insulation to minimize energy loss, low-flow appliances and drip irrigation to optimize water use, as well as location to maximize solar energy and ensure accessibility to public transit. Additionally, this project includes a cost analysis demonstrating that the switch to greener home alternatives may involve higher initial costs, yet the long-term investments makes it a beneficial endeavor.
